Lewis Stephens

Lewis is a Registered Migration Agent and is an active member of the Migration Institute of Australia. He is a director of Stephens Migration Services, located in Melbourne. He provides the full range of immigration services to his clients including; skilled and family visas, and advocacy before the MRT and RRT. However Lewis has a particular interest in Refugee law, and most importantly migration issues faced by the Iranian community.

Between 2010 and 2013 Lewis was a merit reviewer with the Independent Protection Assessment Office. He undertook assessments of claims for Protection visas that had been rejected by the Department of Immigration. His assessments involved interviewing people at detention centres around Australia, reviewing the Department’s decisions on a case by case basis, and providing written recommendations to the Minister. During his tenure Lewis was able to assist hundreds of Iranians in obtaining Protection visas.

Lewis holds a Master of Business degree and has had an extensive professional background in business, dispute resolution and tribunal membership. He has travelled widely including to Iran.
